R&D is a function of critical importance for management of the Company, outcome of which will determine future performance of the Company significantly.

We engage in R&D activity based on the following principles.

Concentrating on Information and Electronics, Environment and Energy, as well as Lifestyle and Medicine as important fields, Tokuyama's R&D efforts aim to expand each business on the basis of chemistry.

R&D objectives

What is goal of researchers and engineers of the company? It must be creating processes and products that will be utilized and help people in the world. The most important for a manufacturing company is to keep that activity going continuously.

Tokuyama has brought many innovative and original products to market over its long history, placing great importance on R&D and technological developments. Now, these product categories have grown into four business divisions, and each division is moving forward in R&D to expand their business.

In charge of Corporate-wise research, the Research & Development Div. is striving to create new businesses beyond existing product lines.
